20th April: Review Rational vs Irrational Numbers and Systems

Periods 1-6

Students will continue reviewing and preparing for the SBAC test, students will keep all the work for the week and turn it in as a packet on Friday

Rational vs Irrational Numbers

Everything is rational except for numbers like pi and the non-perfect squares

Solve Systems by Graphing

Graph both lines, the solution is the point where the lines intersect

Solve Systems by Substitution

Period 7

No on is using computers this week (this includes Nick and David)

Take apart and put away all previous projects.

Start car build, don't deviate very far from the example I have provided in the front of the room. This example will work for both the line followers and the collision avoidance vehicles.

April 19th Pythagorean Theorem Performance Task and Extra Practice

Periods 1-6

Students will work through the performance task reading carefully and answering the questions as best they can. Then they will do the extra practice.

Period 7 Same directions as Monday

April 18th Toilet Paper Performance task and Volume practice

Periods 1-6

Investigative task (toilet paper performance task) We are having you work through this in groups to help prepare for the SBAC Performance task which you will have to do alone.

The performance task is testing whether or not you can apply math to real world situations so read carefully and answer thoughtfully.

The second part you will give you more practice finding the volume. (the formulas are in your planner)
